Once while I was coming back from my home one young man came near me and told that his bag, purse has been stolen and he has to reach to some place which is really urgent. I gave him 100 BUCKS. My train was late so I was waiting on the station after 5 hrs. I saw the same guy with 2 bags walking happily on the station. When I called him, he ran away.

Oh, poor you, it's an unforgetable experience for you. Nowadays we should be careful before doing the good in this cheatful world. The next time, if someone tells you that he's lost his money, or his luggage, you can show him to the police or some security office that must be found at or near the station.

I really would not call that cheating, more of scammed. Yes, I have had a similar experience. Some people would stand on the sidewalk stopping people and showing them a receipt and asking for money. I would usually say "I saw you yesterday right?" (even if I did not), and they would usually turn their back to me. One time, I was walking from the gym to the mall and a burly man stopped me and asked for money because he said he needed to get home. He even had the nerve to cite an amount. I told him I had no money that was why I was walking. A few days later, he approached me again with the same story! I called him out and he hurriedly left, probably to scam other people.
