Any historical re-enactors, LARPers, SCA, Rocky Horror fans, Cosplay enthusiasts etc here? Just curious about what you enjoy dressing up as and what lengths you go to in order to develop your costuming skills.

Me at Renne Faire - Just a photo taken of me in costume for the Renne Faire.
I dress up for Renne Faire's. I used to be a regular at the San Jose, CA Rocky Horror Picture Show. I also used to LARP (Vampire the Masquerade). I love dressing up!!!. Especially for Renne Faire!

What was your favourite costume, how did you make it?

Is it based on a particular historical period, or more of a ren faire mixture?

My favorite costume is my Renne Faire costume. I unfortunately have no sewing talent what so ever so I bought mine at Faire a couple years back. It cost me a fortune but I love it.

I love dressing up, it is a ton of fun. I really like to dress up as anime/manga characters I go to fullest lengths I can. I try to get every detail right like the hair and accessories and of course the clothing and walking, talking style.I think it is alot of fun and great way to express emotions.

Cotumes from your imagination are great, and bellydancing does allow a huge amount of creative expression :)

I'm in costume more often than not. Historical accuracy is not my cup of tea. I'd rather be original. For example I prefer costumes from Lord of the Rings over trying to look like Mary Queen of Scots. The more imaginative a costume is, the more I'm drawn to it. Most likely (when I'm not belly dancing) I'll be a pirate or a vampire or a gypsy. I do love the new Tribal belly dancing pattern by Folkwear patterns, so I may be making that next. They've improved their size range so it should fit most people now.

I'm in the sca and my persona right now is 14th century France. So I like to wear Cotehardies and sideless surcoates. I used to be 12th century anglo norman so I used to wear Bliauts.

I love cosplaying anime characters. In fact I'm doing this for 5 years already!! This a very exciting hobby. When you came to a convention as a cosplayer you'll become an instant celebrity!! It's really fun dressing up!
