Firefox Vs Internet Explorer

Hi folks, I am using Firefox as the browser. But when opening couple of new tabs makes it to slow down, have to wait a bit to make it back up and running. I am not using newer version if IE yet. Is the same problem there in IE also? But some said by updating Firefox to the latest version will solve the problem and I did so. But still experience in the low performance in it.
