I love to visit islands and have been to some wonderful ones in the world. I went to the Seychelles in 2004 and liked going to an island where there weren't any cars. I visited the Maldives in 2005 and stayed on a tiny palm fringed island. I was able to walk right around it in 10 minutes. In 2006 I went to a lovely little island in Belize and it didn't have many cars on it. The main street was a sandy track and many snorkeling trips were offered. I went on a boat trip to see manatees. I saw sting rays and nurse sharks when I was snorkeling. Which islands do you know about? Are there any islands or beaches you would like to go to?

I love islands and have been to quite a few of them. I would actually like to visit the Caramoan Islands that is somewhere in the Philippines. My friends say that you can go "Island hopping" because there are so many islands around and you can rent a boat to visit them.

I love visiting islands and beaches as well. Growing up in a landlocked state in the US, I loved going to the beach and islands. I've been to Hawaii, Jeju Island (in South Korea), and that's it I think. My favorite place so far is Hawaii. It's so beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. There's so much to do and so much to see, but never enough time. I've been to Oahu and the Big Island, so hopefully next time I'll get to visit Maui and the other islands. I also want to someday own a small vacation house on one of the smaller islands.

You can visit Sent Martin island in Bangladesh. This is a coral island. Very nice place to visit. There is no car or bus. Only cycle rickshaw and rickshaw van. From capital Dhaka you can fly to Cox'sbazar. The beach of Cox'sbazar is the longest beach of the world. From there you will have to go to Tecknaf by bus or zip. It will take two hours journey. From Tecknaf you will go to Sent Martin island by sea truck. There the water of the sea is so transparent that you can sea the deep of the sea and sea life.Really you will enjoy.

Hello maximax8, i live in a country famous for its beaches! That's right, Australia! One of the most popular beaches on the globe is Bondi Beach, famous for it's great sand, great water, and great tides. I believe that i don't need any other beach as long as Bondi Beach remains as it is.

This all sounds very beautiful! It's hard to believe there are some islands that don't have any cars! That sounds very nice! It's nice that you got to walk around the Maldives in 10 minutes. I never have been to Belize but my brother and his second wife went. They got to go snorkeling when they were there. I have been to the Hawaiian Islands and to The Bahamas. I went snorkeling in The Bahamas and that was a lot of fun! I didn't see many fish that day, though, just a few little striped ones. Kathy.

There is also Dauphin Island, which is near Mobile. I have been there but that was a long time ago. Kathy.

Phi Phi Island - This is one of the picturesque sceneries of Phi Phi Island in Thailand.
maximax8, Like you I do love visiting islands and beaches, it is just so relaxing and refreshing. It sure beats the hustles and bustles of city life where everything is so natural. This year, I am planning to spend Christmas with my family in Phuket, Thailand and would be staying for 3 nights at Phi Phi Island which is close by Phuket Island. Though the price is a little steep due to the peak season surcharge, the exchange rate just helped a little making my money's worth. Just can't wait for it to happen now.

If you don't mind me asking, you travel for leisure or for work? Truly awesome... you've managed to check out all these wonderful places. I love snorkeling trips as well, but those sharks, LOL... just have to be careful. I know nurse sharks are nothing compared to the Great White ones, but then again, it's a shark..

There are more than 400 islands in Denmark and it is one of my goals to visit to as many islands as possible. Some of the islands are big, others are very small. I don't know how many islands I have visited in my life, but it is quite a lot, and some of them are very beautiful and interesting. On some of the small islands cars and not allowed and they are very peaceful. It is not possible to visit all of the islands, some of them are closed to the public in order to protect the animals (birds etc) which live there, and some of the smaller islands don't have a bridge or ferry, so you can only get there if you have your own boat.
