Politics is an issue about governance and it doesn't necessarily mean it is evil, it is the politicians that are giving it a bad name. Today the word politics is equated with corruption and greed. It lead to the common expression that politics is dirty because of that.

Politics is a country which practice democracy by voting system through general election in selecting the ruling party to administrate the government in one country. So, there is nothing wrong with politics. If you have used the 'politician' replacing the word 'politics' in that sentence, then I agree on your stats made.
