New Wizard of Oz????

How true are the rumors I have heard that they are going to be making a new "Wizard of Oz."? I can't believe it. There is no way that they can redo the original. Let me know what, if anything, you have heard.

There is already an alternate version of the Wizard of Oz called The Wiz. It came out in 1974 I believe. Starred Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Richard Pryor was also a part of the cast.

I have not heard of this since I'm not a regular movie goer but if ever the're will be a remake i think they will be able to make a great movie especially with the advancement in computer graphics. There a lot of great directors out there who do remakes better than the original. Cheers!

No, I haven't heard about this. I don't know if I would want to see another take on Oz, because almost every time they spin off the movie rather than going back to the books
