According to my professor philosophy in my Masters Degree, A person can only be called Human if he/she already gained enough growth and development. Meaning a person who gains enough knowledge to this world to live on his own. A person who knows what is right and wrong. An individual who already knows what is his true meaning in this world. What about you? What is your opinion about it?

So, I would ask your professor if the simple minded who needed help living their daily lives were not human? Or a child of tender years who still needs the guidance of parents and teachers, are they not human? What about the elderly who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or stroke, are they not human? I believe that from conception on... each of us are human. And our humanity is seen in how we treat those who have not gained 'knowledge' or cannot live on their own. Thanks for letting me respond.

Your teacher is wrong. Human is a biological term, we are all humans who have human DNA but not all humans can be said to be a person. A human raised with animals may not a person. To be a person entails being part of a language using community because it is that, which engenders in the individual sufficient conceptual development to have an understanding that they are a being with a future and a past and we might add that their actions may affect that future. Are all people human? Perhaps not, an intelligent alien might be said to be a person but clearly they are not human. Perhaps, it might be argued that animals kept as pets are people? all the best urban

We are all humans and we are all evolving at our own speed. There is nothing right or wrong in the universe. All elements and all creatures have their own place and have a role to fulfill. Having the advantage of being at a different pedestal gives us some interesting perspectives. We need to enjoy each perspective.

Wow a very nice and honest response. You are correct with that hahaha, the reason why i put up this topic is to have knowledge on what are the point of views of the people/humans about this topic. We have the same thinking, i just put this up so that my professor will be with us even if he is not doing fine right now. Two thumbs up!
