Hi all, I have recently become single. With all the free time that I now have on my hands I'm trying to look for some ideas tokeep myself busy. I'm not an athletic person and unfortunately with work restrictions I cannot do a course. I'm looking for a hobby that can be done at any time of the day or night.

Maybe you could look into joining a local YMCA or any other type of gym, take up bike riding, yoga, etc.

reading, writing in a journal, drawing, taking care of a pet or pets, going for a walk or jock in your area, working out in the gym or working out at home with a dvd or tv exercise program, painting, arts and crafts, etc. make your own list. what do you enjoy doing? what makes you happy? what relaxes you? some people have sewing as a hobby or remodeling old used things with tools and making them look better.

Hello Blueberry2008 Love your id name. Now for hobbies there is cross stitching or crocheting or knitting. You can do small projects day or night or big projects. Some project you can carry in your purse or hand bag during lunch or at doctors etc. There are charity projects or wwebsites you can join to donate your pieces. There is bead work or photography or drawing and sketching where you carry the camera or sketch pad and have fun with colors or shades of grey. There are walking groups that go to parks or area to walk together or cooking clubs you can join. There are meet up groups that you join activiies like hiking, canoeing, rafting or excersing. There are groups the just meet up for a coffee or breakfast to chit chat with people. There is model airplane kits or model car kits or boats or kites for flying. There is frisbee golf where you need a few different size of frissbees that you through into a basket along the course. You can play individually or with a group this seems to newest craze out there. There are book clubs to joins and discuss with people. The spca is always lookinf for volunteers to walk the dogs or pet the cats. I hope this helps Have a great day Unique16

I great hobby that I enjoy is cross stitching. It's very simple to get started and as your skill grows you can complete more complicated and detailed projects. To get started, you should go to a craft store like JoAnn's or Michaels and buy a simple starter kit. Look for the smaller kits or kits that are marked 'beginner' or 'easy'. Any kit showing a picture with large blocks of the same colors and a simple design would work well. Most kits come with everything you need, except for a stitching hoop, which can be purchased very inexpensively and should be located in the same section. When you open the kit, carefully read the directions which should tell you everything you need to know about how to complete the project. It may take some time and dedication to become proficient, but you can begin to create beautiful pictures almost immediately. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions!
