Does it matter whether we can explain and understand religion, even if only a little bit?

Religion, to me, is a set collection of attitudes and behaviors that tell us how to relate to God. It is made of practices, values, traditions, and rituals. I'm Catholic and I practice and follow my religions guidelines, although I know that the Church is led by human beings and thus it is bound to make some mistakes. I dont't think we should mistake religion for faith. They are very different things.

I don't believe in religion, as it is man made rules how to worship God. I believe in a personal relationship with God, called faith.

Religion mattered to me when looking to get married. I always wanted my husband to be the same religion as me because I think it makes life a lot easier (especially when raising kids). Luckily, my husband is the same religion as me (Catholic). But I have friends of all different faiths and that doesn't matter to me or bother me at all.
