Would you look a beggar straight in the eye?

I'm not sure about how you would react but personally I just can't seem to look a beggar straight in the eye. If i do, it seems that it's an automatic reaction that i look away when i saw them looking back at me. Is it guilt? looking to a fellow human being so down while I'm enjoying the good life? is it pity? that they are in such situation and I can't do anything about? is it shame? that I can't seem the give them anything even if they look pitiful enough because of the thought that there's a syndicate behind it? I have done everything that I possibly can to get rid of this menace. For beggars it is the best way out to stay away from responsibility, work, etc. There are institutions where jobless are accommodated and refined too. Leave alone looking them in the eye I shoo them away and even offer a job in my garden if they are willing to work but the moment I say that they vamoose from the scene.

hmmmm.. in my experience, its the sadness that you don't want to see in their eyes.. its always hard to look someone in the eye and see nothing beyond.. no hope, no faith, no future..
