Looking for my dad

I've been searching online for my dad whom I've never met. I was born in Detroit and the last time he saw me I was about 9 months. I don't know much about him, only that he was from chicago, is about 40 years old, last place he lived was the detroit area in michigan. I know he has a sister named Denise and his name is Patrick. I only recently found out about him a year ago. Is there any place I can go to search for him. I really don't know where to start.
