do u watch TV when u r cooking?

hi, how can u do these two things at the same time? cooking and watching TV.
my cooking skill isn't good already, if i watched TV when i am cooking, i guess it will take 3 hrs to make a dinner.
my daughter love to watch Masterchief.
she asked me to learn cooking and become a good cook.
OMG, i have been cooking for few yrs, family still complain this is not nice, this tastes bad..etc
hate to listen to this kind of comments, why dont they think of i have to go to buy, do the preparations, do the cooking and wash the dishes....

I like to watch T.V. when I am cooking but I can not see it from the kitchen so I just turn it up loud so I can hear it.It seems like when I start cooking it seems like i am standing there for hours,and I will never get out of the kitchen but I do enjoy cookimg.

I dont watch tv, but I set up my lap top and watch the news while cooking. But watching cooking shows are a good idea to learn techniques. Make sure you arent trying too complicated dishes until you master the easy ones.

You have to get a feel while cooking that adding particular ingredient in particular quantity would give better taste. This can be cultivated as you go on cooking for sometime and take the comments in a positive way to correct.
Now coming to the watching TV part, no i do not watch TV as I cant see my TV from my kitchen. Rather I have my laptop always with me on the dining table i.e. in the kitchen and chat with friends or listen to music or even watch online cookery shows and cook at times. However I do, I do not take much time for cooking. Its just 40min maximum to complte my cooking.
