Hi!Hope somebody can help my friend on this problem. My friend uses the internet frequently and just recently she learned that an impostor is using her name to malign her to other people.The problem is spreading like wildfire that my friend is being judged because of what this impostor has done.The impostor uses Yahoo messenger and mail,is there a way to report this so this person will be given punishment? I'm very sad for my friend because of what happened to her.It just shows we are not safe....... Thanks for answering and happy mylotting!

In this case not much can help because this kind of people normally use cybercafe to operate their activity. The only thing can be done is "How to Report an Instant Message Phishing Scam to Yahoo!"; http://www.ehow.com/how_2003279_report-phishing-yahoo.html

Thanks for this!But I hope I can find something more and help my friend.It really gives me a chill every time I think of the bad words that this impostor has spread about my friend.Wish we can protect ourselves more! Thanks again and have a good day!

was her account being hacked or the impostor was just using her name? if her yahoo account was hacked then she should informed her friends immediately before it gets worst. i had a friend who suffered that kind of scenario too. her friendster and facebook account were hacked and she can't do nothing about it but to make a new one and informed her friends that she was victimize by hackers.

Hi!No,this person is using her own account but uses the name of my friend.Also,she is already in Canada and my friend can't defend herself coz she's so far from the said country!I know this impostor has a hidden agenda for doing this but it's just not fair to use others name and turn their lives upside-down!I can't understand this impostor,she's such a pain.....!I just hope and pray something can be done here! Thanks!
