hi friends Recently I bought a computer. My typing speed is not well. I have to find the keys where they are placed in the keyboard. I only know well where the 'Enter' and the 'Space bar' and the 'escape' button is located in the keyboard. Tell me how you type in your Keyboard?? You look at the KB or on the screen?? Does your hand automatically goes to the key that you want to press?? Also tell me how many words can you type in a minute?? Thanks in advance for your response

Hi puchu, Ya me too like you only, I know the buttons which I use often like esc, space and Enter. I won't look at the monitor and type, I'll be just looking at my keyboard....! And look at the monitor now and then...! But I'm using my PC for the past 5 years so I get used to it, I haven't calculated my speed of typing recently, But 2 years before I was practicing with typing master, I use to get the average of 15-20 words per minute...!

I am also fed up with the same problem. But we can definitely improve our speed by practicing at least 30 min a day using some good free typing tutorials.Practice for a period of two to three months and you will improve for sure. All the best

Off course through my hand. But I have to type the letters watching at the keyboard. I see some have so much accuracy that while typing they don't watch at the keyboard. Splendid! I think. I generally typed 40 to 45 keys per minute or more. You can increase your speed by practicing on some free typing software available in the internet.

My typing speed is just average. Just about 40-50wpm. Some people can type 75wpm. I don't know how they do that though. .

Hiya Puchu...we are actually in the same boat..I need to look at the board as I type most of the time and will check what I have written on the screen at the end of some sentences. I was informed that ppl tend to make more typo errors using a flat keyboard (e.g. laptops) than an angled one....as for me I make plenty. Though my speed had improved I still envy those who type without looking at the board. But typing, if practiced, could be improved. I am a beginner in the Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing software..an have currently mastered the home keys, ASDF;LKJ and some other additional keys. you might want to give the software a try...there's a typing game that helps you practice too. Gd luck.

i guess i am a pretty good typist because i can type and not look at the keyboard at all. i can even do other things and type. i can even tell if i have made a mistake while still not looking at the keyboard or the screen. i guess this is because i type for a living. my speed is not that fast but fairly.

You should learn touch typing. The hunt and peck method means you are always looking at your keyboard. Your fingers start at the "home row" with the left hand on the a-s-d-f keys and the right hand on the j-k-l-; keys. The thumb operates the space bar and the little fingers operate the Shift key. Most of the other keys that you use regularly are one position up or down from the home row. There are lots of typing tutor programs, a lot are free, so get one of those and follow the instructions. It takes months and lots of practice but it is a skill that will last a lifetime. I do not know how fast I type as I never really was interested as it does not make me type any faster or slower knowing that figure.

I dont know how many words i can type in a minute but I can say I'm a pretty fast typer. I look at the screen and not the keyboard when I am typing because I'm used to typing and have been using the computer for 10 years already. It'll take time to adjust but if you keep at it, you'll adjust quickly.

well my friend..you've just bought a new computer right..so it'll take time i guess..and you can increase you're typing speed either by some kind of softwares that help you in increasing your typing speed...but what i would recommend is MyLot itself..cause when you keep on replying for discussions your typing speed starts increasing automatically..and try joining forums in which you are interested in..so typing more and more increases your speed..and after sometime you would havea moderate speed..and if you continue more you would be even able to type without lookin in the keyboard...i look to and fro through the keyboard and screen while typing..

If you practise a bit, then typing will be no problem for you! Typing is one of the typical things, were you can only practise. I for my self can type about 450 Symbols per Minute. If I may just add a comment to your keyboard; If it is new, I would have recommended for you to buy the G15 by Logitech. The Nr.1 Keyboard for all gamers ;)
