It depends entirely on a person's nature. I love computer games, but even though I play them for hours sometimes, it doesn't prevent me from doing things I need to do. If it ever got to that point, I would know I was becoming addicted, & just make myself stop. I know from experience I can break an addiction; I used to smoke! I think parents should monitor their children, though, because kids lack the experience & wisdom to know how to recognize the signs, or to stop themselves. Oh, trust me, there are plenty of computer game-addicted adults, too! They're often immature in other ways, though. I'm a fan of science fiction & fantasy, & have been to many conventions, where one may spot them. The gamers show up in droves, but quickly disappear to spend nearly their entire time (3-5 days!) holed up in crowded rooms gaming with one another, coming out when nature forces them to find some quick sustenance, or...well, you know. They're an on-going joke among the rest of the conventioneers, & can be readily identified by their spotty skin (all the junk food they consume) & their pasty, prison-like pallor (the only light they get is from their computer screens!). They exist, but you rarely see them; they're too busy gaming to mix with real humanity! Kind of pathetic, really. Even their fantasies are borrowed.... A bit more normal are "role playing gamers." They don't play on computers, but use tangible objects, such as special dice & small models of dragons, trolls, or wizards & the like, & sometimes dress in their character's costumes. They actually talk to one another, although it's a fantasy conversation.... At least their fantasies, while built on others' frameworks, are still largely their own. They, too, however, have been known to neglect "Real Life" sometimes, to the detriment of job, family, & health. I don't think that's as common with them, however. If you've never encountered such folk, it doesn't surprise me. I'm happy to have given you an unexpected peek into one of society's underbelly denizens. On the other hand, maybe I shouldn't have; it might give you nightmares Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

hi zhouxi, internet games is a source of entertainment both for adults and young. Though, it could have both good and bad effects. As in terms of good effects it helps to make a person play for fun even without companion with the virtual players as their own playmates. While addiction to internet games have its bad sides too aside from the things you mention constant playing makes the eyes strain, and the worst constant sitting lead to muscle loss as most of the gamers fail to exercise to be fit as always focus on playing then others become obese. Though to avoid those bad effects parent need to brief to educate their children about the good and bad sides of online games. Al things need to be put in balance and anything that is too extreme lead to abuses which no one ends up as a winner but they become loser.

Then they shouldn't have had children, because once one has a child, that child is one's most important job in the whole world. A parent has created a new human being, & thus it is then his & her prime job to rear a capable, moral, person, one ready & eager to have a full & healthy life, & take his place in society when he becomes an adult. A parent owes that to his & her children, & to society! All other duties take second place to parenting! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

zhouxi, Internet games are basically designed to help gamers recreate, beat the monotony and most of all socialize with one another. It provides end users and gamers a chance to enjoy the high tech creative graphics, interactivity and networking capabilities to enhance both recreation and communication amongst players, friends and even family members. However, as with all things, we humans are always spoiling things for ourselves when we over indulge and become addicted to these recreational games, turning them into vices. As in all things, we must always be levelheaded and exercise moderation. When we loose our balance, everything will just naturally jeopardize i.e. relationship, work, studies and social circles. Hence, whether these games is a blessing or a bane will depend on how we use it in our lives. Take care and have a nice day.

What can I say is it's good when one game site provides legit earnings program but not for the gambling site. What I mean is for at least it's able to pay the monthly flat rate internet bill. I think if it's able to generate income $10 per day, you are the one who'll the first to get addicted!!!...hahaha!

Well, it's good as long as people have the control and discipline. Internet games are really addicting and I, myself is guilty for it. And I will admit that I neglect my own health because of it. I sleep very late at night, I tend to not each meals because I was too addicted to the games. But I'm trying to change though. I can already feel my body aching, especially my back. And I have developed a callous on my wrist.
