Second Life or Sims 3 better?

hi i play sims 2 but on youtube i saw some videos of second life and i thought it looked cool so i kinda wanted to play it.well, since i have sims 2 i am obviously interested in sims 3 as well.i don't wanna get both because id rather pick one and play one...i wanted to know which one is better, if you play both.if you only play one then which one and why do you like it.
