point to ponder

If pride is a sin and charity is a noble deed...what about the wealthy people who donates massively to charities but makes sure that public knows about it ! Of course the charitable deed is going to benefit a lot of less fortunate but the motivation is more fueled by the person's massive ego or pride ,with a intense desire to have public recognition..To show how rich , successful and generous the person is. My point being, focusing on the giver not the deed, would he or she have sinned because the deed was purely motivated by PRIDE and arrogance and not really a sincere desire to help others!
