Even taking a breather will not help. There are people that get under my skin and although I can't avoid it, it's hard to help them sometimes. I find that no matter how much I try to help a customer, they won't stop being irritated. I am fearing that this will make me not keep my job!! Guys, any feedback??

Interesting.. are you in technical support? Because I am. Hehe. In my job, it's normal to to get irate customers. Not just irate they would even shout or curse you. Well good thing there is a "MUTE" button! A way to release anger! Hehe.. Never ever be rude to your customer even if they are rude to you. Find other ways to release your anger. There a thousand different ways. You just have to know which one. Call handling is continuous learning process, since you talk to different types of people every time. It's up to you on how to handle and pacify the customer. Your composure and understanding must still be there. Also try to put yourself in the customer's shoes. Imagine what you would feel if you are in their place. Good day friend!

To further explain what I do, I deal with patients that their wait time for a dental appointment is 2 months away. That's the way the company's set up and so naturally patients scream at the front desk.. (In person and over the phone). I understand its frustrating to wait 2 months to 3 months for an appointment but there is nothing I can do to change that. I can only offer to call them for a cancellation. We get screamers every day!!!! To think I would get used to it. But I'm not. I think it's time for a new less stressful carreer...

Today I had encountered another person who is irate but this time they wanted to throw a chair at me. I came to find out that they have forgotten to take their medication!!!

to add to what i said, just think of it as you are helping them and at the same time yourself. coz u need that job.. dont blame them for being irrate.. maybe they have received a bad service.. but also they should not blame you for their problems.. its simple enough to complain but to be rude to someone is not good.. just continue to do what is right and you'll be rewarded :)

It is hard to smile when you have them in your face venting!!! There were times that it felt like they wanted to hurt me physically. Even though they are not mad at me directly, they take it out on the receptionists.. Funny thing is even smiling is offensive to them.. Can't win I guess..

i can feel your pain.. literally.. im guessing that we have the same profession.. well its easy.. dont let them get to your skin.. know what i do? i just press the mute button and say *&!*@!&**!!!! see they cant even tell that you're cursing them already.. haha. kidding.. well i dont know about you but i have no anger management issues so i can compensate my irritability to something more fun.. like SMOKING.. take a breather relax and SMOKE.. lol.. :D have a good day..
