After watching the South American qualification for next years world cup, i am very much disappointed with the way the so called stars of the Argentine Football have played... Being a Great player doesn't guarantee of becoming a great coach... Diego Maradona is trying to find someone like him in his squad... but its not possible to produce another Maradona... My Guess - Argentina will reach till the Quarter Finals and not beyond that... What you all have to say about this...

i don't find Maradona's fault in this dismal performance by his team... He knows that he has few matchwinners in his team but they couldn't gel around nicely... this lack of coordination is only because they don't play together for long enough to get the feel of playing in a team... The Argentine team will surely bounce back in the world cup and will bring the 3rd world cup next year...

i agree with you on this point that the team hasn't gelled well till now as Maradona couldn't find the right combination till now... but as per the playing together is concerned, so this is the case with every team as all the players spend most of their time with the club they play for... so don't blame time for their not gelling together...

i think it's a mistake when argentina hire maradona as their coach as we know, world cup is a high level soccer tournament and it's very important to use a very experienced coach to get the best result i think maradona will get the same result as other young coach like roberto donadoni when he take italy to the bad result in euro 2008 the old coach is experienced coach will give the maximum result like marcello lippi (world cup 2006 winner, italy)

experience does play a part in big tournaments, but even experienced coaches in the past couldn't do much for Argentina... take for example of England... such a good side... a great coach... still couldn't make it more than the quarters...

I agree. It was a torment for Argentina to even get to the World Cup, and they will reach the quarters, but that's where they will stop. I don't know why this always happens to Argentina. They've always had some very talented players and maybe that's an explanation itself. Maybe the players have to many ideas and can't stick to several game strategies. Maybe sometimes is not good to have too much fantasy or too much personality. And there's also Maradona... He may have been one of the best players of the planet, but I think he's poor as coach.

you are right man... the larger than life characters in the Argentine side play spoil sport in the team game... maradona is thinking that all the 11 in his teal will play like him... but he should make them play like a team and not just as individuals...

Though Argentina has some world class players in their world cup squad, they lack the spirit and the team chemistry required to win the world cup. Messi and aguero will add some depth to the squad but their chances of progressing to the quarter finals looks quite doubtful.

To few mas of 2 weeks in order that it begins the glass of the world, I believe that Maradona to found the equipment, almost they all come in a great individual moment and he is the one who has mas desire of gaining world this one. Surely that him lacking experience as technician, but the experience you does not guarantee anything, this way that I have a lot of faith to this equipment in order that it does the very good world one.
