The raging floods in Lake District (England) have been described as a once in a thousand years event. Hundreds of people are homeless and a life has been claimed. Yet forecasters are warning the worst is yet to come. The more I read news like this, the more am I glad to be in Singapore. We do not have earthquakes or volcanic erruptions or hurricanes here thanks to our geographical setting. Even then, floods have been reported here and there. Is your country affected by any natural disasters? Have you been a victim?
