My left boob swelled as hard as a rock, and wouldn't release milk. Any tips?

I called the lactation consultant, and she recommended taking a clean diaper, getting it wet but not sopping, and microwaving it for 15 seconds, test it first so you don't burn your boob, cover as much of the boob as possible, and let it warm you for 30 minutes. After a couple applications, it started to soften. I pumped and nursed successfully after that. Are you having this problem? What do you think about this method? Do you have any other suggestions?

Yeah, I think hot compress will do.

I tried hot compresses first... they didn't work... lactation consultant said it had to be moist heat... that's why she suggested the wet diaper.

hi, hot compress normally does not work. Try to use cactus. First, pulp the cactus (make sure you have taken off the thorn of the cactus).Secondly, compress on the boob(you can lie on the bed). I have tried and it is helped. Any detailed question, pls ask me. i am ready to help you.
