Food/Regions of the USA

I have lived in the southeastern and the northeastern part of the country. It's funny that there are different foods for different regions. In even smaller distances foods can greatly vary. In Rhode Island, I grew up with a food called Chourico. I believe it is a Portuguese sausage (RI and parts of Mass. have a large Portuguese population). I don't know the proper pronunciation of it but we say it like this: Sher-reis It is delicious on a pizza. It is my all time favorite pizza. It is a very spicy meat but at the same time it is sweet also. Delish! I also like to take just a two inch piece and put it in a beef stew. Give it a try next time you make beef stew. It is out of this world. When I lived in New Hampshire and North Carolina as well as visiting other states, there is no Chourico to be found. I really missed it when I lived away from RI.

When you tell about the food, it seems like can not wait to taste. So yummy!
