This coming world cup has already seen few surprise packages and few surprises... Top teams have come up good barring a few and few are into the finals just for the 2nd or 3rd time... The final 32 qualifiers are: 1) Argentina 2) Brasil 3) Chile 4) Paraguay 5) Uruguay 6) Australia 7) Japan 8) Korea Republic 9) Korea DPR 10) New Zealand 11)Algeria 12) Cameroon 13) Ivory Coast 14) Ghana 15) Nigeria 16) South Africa 17) Honduras 18) Mexico 19) US 20)Denmark 21) England 22) France 23) Germany 24) Greece 25) Italy 26) Netherlands 27) Portugal 28) Serbia 29) Slovakia 30) Slovenia 31) Spain 32) Switzerland I am betting for Spain to take it this time... They have a very well balanced team and the way they have played in the qualifiers has only boosted their confidence... What about your preferences for the coming world cup... Do share your thoughts...

I hope Wayne Rooney with the Three Lions England do their job well to win the tittle. I know it won't be easy for them because there are strong teams such as Spain and Brasil. But Don Capello must know the right strategies to fight those teams.

You're right. But the three lions still have talented players such as gareth barry, shaun wright-phillips, jermain defoe, ashley young, etc. I think we can count on them when senior players like Gerrard and Lampard don't do their job well.

ya England has a good team but i don't know what happens to their players when they play for the country... Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand... all play superbly for their clubs but when they play for England, they look ordinary...

since Malta isn't in the world cup, I go for Italy.

Italy is a good side but i don't think they can make the semis... Malta, if it was in the finals, would have been a good bet...

If Malta, was in the finals, I would go always for my country, Malta, even if they lose, I do not care. The most important is that I encourage the Maltese.

There's a long way to the World Cup and many things can happen - injured players, players coming into and out of shape, etc. Teams like Brazil, Italy and Germany are always there to claim the trophy, but the teams in best shape right now seem to be Spain, Serbia, England or the Netherlands. I won't place my bet on anyone, but if Pele named his favourite I can tell you for sure who won't win - Pele never seems to get it right

ha ha ... so you want Pele to make his choice so that you can choose some other team... Spain & England have real chance in this world cup... lets see which team goes till the end...

I'm still gutted that France made it ahead of the Republic of Ireland... Not sure who'll win - don't really care, as long as it isn't the English or French. I think Spain are in with a shout; Brazil and Germany, too. I think the Netherlands will win (well, I don't; but I'll support them anyway), but the Ivory Coast is my sneaky outside bet!

everyone including the french supporters are feeling the same... but what can't be done, why waste time thinking about them... Netherlands is a good bet... but Brazil...no way... they were taken to task in the confederations cup final by the South Africans... Ivory Coast will definitely give some shocks....
