Hi friends, i think this is really an interesting topic. A lots of students usually argue on this topic. it is generally finalized as one who studies science seems to be intelligent because he or she deals with more practicals than the students who study arts. what is your opinion about this friends?

No, we cannot say that a person who studies Science or Arts is more intelligent than the other. Psychologists and other scientists have discovered that people have their own level of intelligence, and they have also discovered different kinds of intelligence such as: verbal-linguistic intelligence; numerical intelligence; spatial intelligence; musical intelligence, and so forth. Albert Einstein was not very good in reading and writing as he had dyslexia, and yet he became one of the most famous scientists of all time. Artists possess spatial intelligence to see patterns, designs and space - and they can visualize a two or three-dimensional object or event and make it real. So, everyone of us has our own intelligence, and talent that are unique.

hey,,, well, i dont think the intelligence part play as much as hard working does! there are so many intelligent students don't get good grades compare to other students who who keep on working harder than the intelligent studens... so, it is basically has to do with the studen's capability in studying hard

Hi priyavivek, According to me there are many science students who is more intelligent than art student and art students more intelligent than science. It depends how students do hardwork work and study. Not only science or arts students there are many students who is more intelligent choosing other subjects also. so it depends how they study with concentration. Have a great day

I am surprised to see a discussion like this. How can a group of students be more intelligent by simply joining a course or subject! It is all about the students, their natural intelligence and hard work that matters and not the subject. I am a B.Tech student and I can't say if science or arts students are more bright. I know many brilliant students doing Arts and some others doing science. Subject is chosen of one's interests and talents.

Those who study science can only respond to non living nuts and bolts.(this is with response to those who study engineering, medicalites are quite alive but they too, in a superiority complex of being a student from science background may or may not be radarred, but the doctors with inhumane hearts again come in the same classification). It is we people (from arts/humanities backgrounds)who respond to humanism, love and its feelings more deliberately than others, we are the ones to develop languages to be used in the scientific streams, we are the ones who give them breath in form of music, lyric, poems, stories etc... TELL ME WHO IS MORE IMPORTANT?

one just appears to be intelligent if one is good in the academics. it is worth mentioning also on who finds them intelligent. if students are to be the judge then those academically inclined students would seem more intelligent. in real life, after school, it is the one who knows one's talents, uses it and disciplines himself to cultivate it and still can find it to respect and follow orders from others who may not be like them are truly the more intelligent ones for they are the ones who would end up to be more successful. if not financially then they would have a peace of mind since they have contentment and had good reasons to have it since they got it out of the knowledge that they applied hard work and not laziness to reach that state of mind.

I think a person who is really intelligent is good at both science and arts.a balanced intelligence is a mind that functions well creatively and scientifically. I think the left side of the brain is associated with arts, while right is associated with practical thinking.a real intelligent person utilizes both sides of the brain.

There are many arts students who are more intelligent than some science students and there are many science students who are intelligent than arts students. Intelligence doesn't depend on the subject we choose. The subject which we choose depends on our interest. You cannot decide this on the basis of specialization. Do you know I am an arts and science student. Inter - Maths, Economics, Commerce; Degree - B.Com; PG - MCA - Science. Do u agree? People who study arts will have to do many practicals in their real life. Even if a science student fails in his practical a breadboard may be damaged or an IC may corrupt (talking about Electronics students), but if an arts student fails in his practical it may hurt someone's feelings (talking about HR people). Now do u say science people practicals are more difficult than arts people practicals. So, finally what I want to say is that purely depends on your interest. If u love science definitely you will succeed in science, say u r a genius, even then you will not be able to study arts if u don't have interest in it.

Can't answer because the response hinges on how one defines “intelligent”. Studying science? Our science which we accept as correct has often been proved wrong. So don't see how studying error can make you intelligent. Arts can be studied but usually to excel one must have the ability to learn or a natural talent. Usually you can spot the one with natural ability even before they have received any formal education or training. But does that make them a more intelligent human being. I think we're all intelligent human beings because we can all learn. The human mind is a beautiful thing and we all have one.
