Do you have a habit of eating on time?

Do you have a habit of eating on time? I mean, there is a specific time on your breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think it is a good tradition for a family to eat together on breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before, we have this routine where we actually eat every 8:00 in the morning, 12:00 in the afternoon and 6:00 in the evening. I was used to that habit, so when I started working and living on my own, I easily got hungry and weak whenever I missed one meal. How about you? What can you say about this? Would you like to eat on a specific time everyday?

Hi Jaz, I follow a regular schedule for meals but i usually deprive myself from eating the right amount of food because i am on a diet and really trying hard to lose weight. I sometimes skip meal and instead have biscuit, fruits and milk or tea as a replacement.

Hello, msfrancisco! It is nice to know that you are also following a regular schedule for meals. I'm so proud of you because you have a wonderful goal in your life and health. Taking biscuits, milk or fruits instead of heavy meal is better than nothing at all. God bless you on your goal. Hope that you will be successful and stay healthy and strong. Thank you for your response with this topic.

Hello, swapnamurthy! Yes, I understand you. Work is one of the reasons why it is hard to eat together with the family all the time. But that is acceptable because we really need to work first, so we have something to feast on together. =) For me, as long as you are trying to have a perfect time during weekdays (if possible) is truly great. Also, if you maintain that during weekends. It is a really good tradition to keep. By the way, thank you for your response to this topic. Have a wonderful day! =)

Hi, jaz2009. I will eat three times a day but I can't eat on time everyday. I would be very hungry and my cravings may change. This would not work for me at all. I don't see how others can maintain themselves on a strict routine.

Yes, I have. For lunch I always have lunch at 12 o'clock and dinner- I have supper about 19:00-19:30, but not later. Only if I am at work and come back late, only then I have supper at 22:00.

I don't eat on time because I want, just because I have to. The time I have for eating is that one, I don't have others, so it's going to be breakfast at 7, lunch at 12.30 and dinner at 7. That's it.

Hello, paleorainy! Thank you for your response. I agree that there are times that you have to eat even if you don't feel like eating. That scenario usually happens in the family who have a schedule of eating. Parents will be there to remind whenever the food is ready and as a member of the family, you must be there and eat with them. For me, it is important and it shows that there is unity within the family. Changing the eating habits will be a bit difficult when you begin to live alone or if you have a work with shifting schedules.

No i do not follow routine. Especially in vacations, i take break fast 1 or 2 pm, which is obviously lunch time. Today i getup at 11 am , and took break fast at 11:30 am. I sleeps at 2 or 3 pm. Which effects my routine

Hello, umer5222! Thank you for your response with this topic. Yes, I agree with you that it is difficult to do the same routine in vacation, especially if someone is spending it with friends. It is because people are mostly out in the night and partying all night long. So, the tendency is to skip breakfast and to change the lunch time and dinner time. But I think, if it is a holiday vacation with the whole family, they can still apply or continue their routine when eating. What do you think? :)

I think that it is a good eating habit with a fixed time for the three meals we usually have. It is the same with me, but not always. Sometimes when I get up late in the morning when it is my day off, then my meal time will relatively be put off. But I seldom skip my meals as I don't want to spoil my stomach like I used to.

Hi Jaz, In the past I used to be really strict on when I would have my meals. Breakfast used to be something crazy like 0600, dinner was 1200 (with a snack at 1030 if I was hungry). I would then have a snack at 1530 and tea at 1800. Recently though I managed to shed that because (it is actually probably a bad thing) my mind started to get a little more messed up and so quite often meal times would come when I just din't want to eat anything, so I would wait until I was hungry and eat then. Sometimes, especially with tea, I will get something at the set times because I am not allowed to not eat, but I am much more lenient with breakfast and dinner since getting up that early was stopped when I graduated university and got to lie in, and quite often I sleep through the former, or am too involved in computer time to bother with the latter! When I work though I have a routine to make sure I get as much done as possible and don't let hunger or tiredness get in the way too much since not eating is not a good idea at work for me lol! All the best, Dranz
