a banker once told me that it is nice to have a check(cheque)in your purse than cash. it is more convenient and less hassle but what if you need to only but small items, would it still be convenient? on the other hand, credit card too is equally convenient, you need not worry about if you are running out of cash, because whenever you make a purchase you just have to swipe the card, what if the store doesn't have a machine to swipe in the first place? what will you do? presenting the scenario, which really would you prefer?

It would be so much easier if you just had the cash. Yes you can use a check but lots of places are not taking checks anymore. A credit card is nice but the interest you have to pay is getting way out of hand and lots of people are not being able to afford what the interest on the credit cards. So, I would have to say that I would prefer to just have plain old cash.

Hi there, i have the three choices but i personally love using cash. I used check only if i will pay big amount. About credit card i have fear with the interest rate hehhe so i dont use it also. I am more comfortable using cash because i dont have worries if i have a credit or need to pay something.

I don't think it is allowed using checks in stores, but cards are a lot better when shopping and all shops should have it, but if you find a situation where the shop does not have such, then you need to have cash

I prefer to use cash/debit card than credit card because that's the only way I can discipline myself I am a very bad impulsive buyer. I am afraid that I cannot control myself if I have a credit card. So if I don't have cash then I can't buy anything atleast by that I can plan to buy important things only not what I want.

When I was younger, I used to shop using debit/credit cards. But now, my husband and I would normally shop using cash. We could easily manage our finances this way as we could only disburse the cash that we have. I still maintain and use credit cards but I obtain my husband's approval before swiping the cards. We seldom use checks.

I do prefer cash and credit cards, as in my country too checks has lots of problems, I do use checks to pay some big amounts. Credit card is a bit expensive too if the payments are not made on due time or else credit card is the best as if it has been robbed we can block it by just making a phone call to the bank.

hi, for me, I prefer cash instead of all of those. check is for payment that is large amount, and credit card is not my favorite. you have fun while wipe the card but have you thought about paying? lolz... so, i just carry enough cash to buy what i need and if I ran out then the shop has to stop.

I try to avoid the credit card if possible, even if I pay it on time at the end of the months. It just gives me the false impression that I have more money than I do. That often leads to overspending, then you can't make the montly payment, and it carries over with lots of interest. After that happens it quickly becomes a slippery slope and you get heavily into debt. Between check and cash I prefer cash, but not in the actually bills for. The other form of cash, that I'm sure you meant to include in cash as a whole, is the bank debit card. I use that more than any other that way I don't have to carry real cash in my pocket, but I also can only use what I have in my bank account and no more.

I hardly ever carry cash around with me! I use my debit card to make over the counter payments and so forth and I still use a cheque book. I think that things have been made that much easier in that we can pay for virtually everything with plastic nowadays! I think that cheque books will eventually be phased out. I only carry cash around with me when I need small change for things like oyster top ups and things of that nature. Andrew

Hello alexysabelle this is checkmail and would prefer to have cash as the payment mode normally.Yeah and also an credit card for the online purchases only.It is more convenient to carry cash with us as its accepted by everybody, and not lie credit cards or cheque that this facility is not avail. Many a times i had noticed some peoples returning empty handed from some stores just because were not having cash but had credit card and cheque. And about cheque am still trying to verify mine signature, don't know but its not matching, whenever tried.S msotly prefer cash and credit card both.

I prefer to pay by cash. If I don't have the cash on hand to pay for something, I probably don't really need it.

I like to use cash or my debit card. I'm still 19, but I'm kind of scared of the idea of credit. I don;t like borrowing things to begin with, and the idea of borrowing money just makes me stress out about paying it back.

hi alex^^;; i have never used check and i know the hassle it brings when used in a country like mine..oh and i don't accept check as payment either because of so many issues on it. with the credit card, believe me. i just had my first credit this year August and was forced to apply one for flight ticket bookings. credit cards may seem so useful when you don't have money and it seems very light when using it, feels like no burden buying those stuffs..but when the bill arrives, one can have a bad headache. though cash is vulnerable to theft and once stolen, cannot be retrieve unlike for cards that you can ask your bank to block it..but still, i prefer using them. i can easily calculate how much i spent and left to spend rather than listing my expenses when i use my credit card. it is easier to just put out from my wallet/pocket, pay and leave.

i think i use all of the above,i actually like writing cheque by myself,i have always liked doing it and i think cheques keep a better record of where my money is going,i also use debut card and cradit cards aswell, there is also sometimes when i use money orders too,it just depends upon the situation and what is need to be paid and when.

I use a debit card mostly or cash. It keeps the retraint on so I don't go crazy buying things I want in one swipe. Checks, I'm just not interested in since a debit card does the same but easier/faster. Cash is nice for smaller purchases.
