The opposite of love is laziness. Love is not feelings but an action word. Our love is never conveyed by what we feel or say but by what we do. If you notice closely, when we don't love something we do not do the necessary things. When we love something we do it more often. I also agree with your comment that it is apathy.

I guess it is hate, unless you call it just not loving, that would not be so evil, but still not good.

The opposite of Love is Hate only,as per my thinking and knowledge.i don't think there would be any other thing thhan HATE that will be the opposite of LOVE.

they say hate is just a step away from love, and vice-versa. so hate would definately not be the opposite of love, coz i think people tend to hate with the same intensity as they love. i think completly ignoring the other (if that could ever happen) would be the opposit of love. passing from high emotion to zero feelings i guess that would mean opposite

love and hate are two sides of the same coin, e.g. ahte is just love with its back turned. Love/hate are emotions but the scary part is after the love has gone and the hate has gone you are left with indifference, which is an absense of feeling.

I believe the opposite of love is indifference. Being indifferent is being insensitive, uncompassionate, uncaring and just NOT feeling anything. I don't consider hate as the opposite of love as it is a different kind of emotion as anger and revenge. They're different not opposites.
