I think I'd agree with your list. The main reason they are so popular, I believe, is that they are 'catch all' interests, so more people start discussions in them, rather than trawling through their list of interests to find something more specific. Obviously, 'make extra money' is popular, because we all want to do that, but unfortunately, it's often full of referral links, which, of course, get deleted as they are against guidelines. Q & A is popular because we all have questions we want answering, and we all like finding out new things. It's also easy to tailor a discussion to fit in Q & A.

I also notice that on my list of interest the top 5 most discussed were: 1)Mylot 2)Questions and Answers 3)Life 4)Make Extra Money 5)Family The rest were not that active really. That is why I most joined the discussions on these 5 top interest.
