Wal-Mart Careers a Dead-End?

Having worked as an optician at Wal-Mart for 4 years, I can honestly say that, although Wal-Mart offers a reimbursment on my certification fees, it still remains a dead-end job for me. At other optical stores, there is room to work your way up, and become a manager while earning commission. Wal-Mart has found a way to not offer commission as other places in the optical industy do, and don't count on becoming manager of anything optical until the current manager dies or quits. This is my experience, if you have another in opposition, I would love to know more options on how to move up in the monster that is Wal-Mart. Thanks!
