Is depression genetic or not?

I've been having problems in my immediate family recently. My sister went into severe depression and came out with some form of schizophrenia, my youngest brother has autism, and I have problems with concentration and I believe I might have some form of ADD/ADHD. I see how people would think they were hereditary. But our family has been through a lot. So the question is, are mental health problems genetic disorders or does it have something to do with the environment?

I am not very sure of this that depression is genetic. But i am sure that autism is not genetic. Mental health affairs can be solved out by doctor's help. Most of the times the mental health states are the output of the causes taking place with the individuals. Autism or ADD/ADHD is not genetic.

So it's mostly the influence of the environment? But if 2 out of 4 siblings have Autism and/or ADD/ADHD then does their general upbringing have a big influence?

I beleive in some cases it can be in the family, for example most everyone in my family is depressed, but not completly everyone, but most of them have some type of disorder.
