What should I sing for an upcoming Talent Show??

So there is this upcoming Talent show I plan to participate in at the end of January but I am at a loss of what I should do. Last year I actually took first place in the same Talent Show by singing 'Part of this World' by The Little Mermaid. I didn't even really put that much theatrics into it because my self esteem was so low. I seriously thought I did a terrible job until I got all these compliments and then was named first place. So this year I have more confidence and I want to actually perform the song.. and become the character that is singing. Only I have no idea what to sing! Does anyone have any good songs from Musicals you think I should perform? I am looking for more upbeat and entertaining songs but any song mentioned is greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

Oooh, I just watched Cinderella with my little girl last night. And, we had so much fun singing the song of the fairy Godmother .. It must be called "Impossible" cuz that's what the song says over and over again. But, it's a good natured, happy, magical song. Maybe you should look into it.

hi phoenix1344, It is nice to know that at your age? you got that talent in singing..I see that your self esteem is fine,it is just that, you have your expertise but maybe not in theatrics as what you said.. For the upcoming talent show, I suggest you to try songs that will suit your character so that you will easily and freely express yourself.. For shows /contests like that, i think one of the most criteria they consider is if matches your personality and the voice quality too.. Type of the songs you may choose are those that fit of your age, however some likes theater songs, inspirational songs, pop songs or love songs maybe, There are a lot of songs you can choose from..but It would be more effective if YOU gonna pic songs from each categories you want and try them all, then seek advice from those who are capable at it and let them criticize and rank your choice of songs.. In that way? you gonna have an idea and conclude what is the best choice of song you will perform. But as possible, GO for the songs you really wanted to sing and express and I am pretty sure, it really comes from your heart, for the way you gonna deliver it? be felt or touched by the viewers heart too..
