Would you take this risk?

If you are a very honest person, you would take the risk to say only the truth to somebody who don t hear the truth?
Are peoples who don t like to hear the truth, and they "ask" a nice lie, they don t want to hear the truth, because this truth can make them don t feel good;
Would you take the risk to make somebody don t talk with you any more just because you want to be honest and say the truth?

I always prefer to tell the truth no matter who is in front of me. Sometimes the truth is awkward but if the person has an open mind and will take the truth in his stride then it should be spoken.Sometimes it is better to tell a lie, a " white lie " as it is called if it can help somebody.For eg, if a crooked person is chasing another person with the intention of killing him and you know where he is hiding, then would it not be better to tell a lie and tell the chaser that you do not know his whereabouts, if it can save his life? However such occaisions come rarely hence it is always better to speak the truth even if it breaks a friendshp because if your friend expects you to lie on his behalf ,then it is better not to be friends at all with such a person.
