Music saved my life. Who inspires you?

Music has always been something that I turned to in times of depression. I'm not sure what I would have done growing up without artists like Christina Aguilera and Alexz Johnson. When I am stressed and feel like my world is crumbling, I listen to music as loud as I can and just lose myself in the beat. It's amazing how something so simple can have such a huge impact. Is music like this for anyone else? Who has inspired you? What has music helped you get through?

I like the music of Coldplay, John Mayer, Ne-Yo, and Adele. Their music varies but it's just what I need for each mood that I am in, whether I am happy, hyper, sad, or angry and needs calming down. I can say that music is very therapeutic to me because it can instantly change my mood or allow my thoughts to drift why I get lost in the music.

You listed a really nice variety of artists. That's how I am. I'm getting more into giving new artists a chance. I used to only listen to pop music and that got so boring. There are so many singers out there to explore. I get really excited when I find a new one that isn't very popular.

I would love to one day become a singer, but I'm so deadly shy. I know it sounds lame lol, but I think I'm going to start uploading videos of me singing on YouTube just to get out of my shell a bit.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I listen to music every day, when I don't...hmm can't even imagine how I would feel..I want to listen to music every day and I do, otherwise it would be really boring.. I usually listen to some new songs every day too.. I hate to listening to the same music all the time (it gets boring too, but some music are classics, they never get old)

@williamhg I notice, when I go without having my 'music time' where I crank it up in my room for hours and just kinda chill by myself, I'm more stressed out and I don't sleep as well. I'm more motivated when I have music to push me a bit.

I know what you mean when you say, "Without it my life is incomplete". I couldn't agree with you more!! Life without music would drive me crazy.

It's hard to just pick one, but if I absolutely HAD to, I would say Christina Aguilera "Fighter". That song reminds me of my mother and how much she put me through. I figure, if I can get through 18 years with her, I can get through anything. Whenever I listen to that song, I remind myself of all the things I've accomplished and then the world seems like an easier place to live in :)
