What is the essence of marriage?

Tell me guys what is really the essence of marriage.Nowadays i cant see the essence of marriage.Kindly post your own idea prior to knowledge and experienced.

The essence of marriage is one word- adjustment. The better people are able to adjust with each other the happier married live they will have. There is a question of compromise and sharing along with sacrifice in this adjustment and one should be ready to do all these to stay happily married.

I think the essence of marriage for me is to love someone for the rest of your life. Marriage is not only aboutphysical affection but it is also about respect and love to one another. It is very complicated and it takes a lot of responsibility.

love comes first,then common interests, trust,support,responsibility, and steady incomes is necessary too.
