We could go on at great length listing the advantages of computers but there definitely are some disadvantages. One of the major disadvantages of computers is the junk that can appear on the computer screens of children. If kids are on a computer that does not have protective software on it, or the trash gets through anyway, it can adversely affect them. They end up "growing up" in some areas way before they are mentally or emotionally ready for it. They can become convinced that certain behavior is "normal" and there are predators out there who will tell them it is quite normal. Another less serious disadvantage of computers is that certain harmless activities like playing games and socializing can become addicting and waste a lot of time, some of which could be much better used in more productive activities. With that said, I definitely wouldn't want to be without a computer. Computers can enhance business, social interaction, and entertainment.

Is it not parents responsability to install such software wich controls the content that a kid can access? And is it not an even bigger responsability to teach your kids to spend more time outdoors then stuck in a room with a computer? Some parents will never leave their kids out of site when outside, they shouldn't let them out of site in front of a computer... But then again, some parents never care to do either, they are content to rest while the kid is outside or in front of the pc. Computers can destroy or enhance social life, skills and health, for both kids and adults.

Some disadvantages are an addiction motivator. If you stay on it too long and get so used to being on it, it will be very hard to get off of it. It can have a power failure that will cause you to have to trouble shoot it. It has many ebooks and various online sources that you can go to for information. This makes it very hard for someone whose eyesight is not all that well. Reading online can make your eyes change. It costs a lot. Only if you don't know what you don't want. And finally for those whom are not computer proficient it can be very confusing to have to learn the techniques and skills for the computer.

Spending too much time at your pc, can bring serious health issues. It can harm your eyes, it can harm your back, it can make your hair fall. Now matter how new your system is, they'll tell you it may do less harm, due to improved technology, but it still does harm. And they hide the fact that it does harm, saying it does less harm... But no one wonders how much less harm, or how much they mean by "less". If you type a lot, and don't have an anti rsi keyboard, it will even harm your hands.
