Hey icesmile! I wear glasees when I use my computer and when I read! I also need them to watch tv and do anything! The thing is I need different strengths for different jobs! I wear certain glasses to read and use the computer! And when I am walking and watching tv I need a lesser strenght! So I will sometimes by my glasses in the dollar store for watching tv and doing simple things! But, for reading I need a regular prescriptiong that is prescribed by a doctor!

At one point in my life , when I woke up in the morning I had to put on a pair of glasses. After a while I stopped doing it, finding that my vision really hadn't improved like it should have with those things. My vision is probably going to stay where it was for the time being. Unless of course something else is going to happen to them, but I honestly don't see that as a possibility. At least not anytime soon. I see what I see, and that's that. In fact my vision is just so bad I rely on screan reading technology to see what's on the computer right now.

Hi, icesmile. I wear glasses all day long. I can't go without wearing my glasses. I need them to see the computer. The screen is very blurry. It is hard to see the screen so I need to have my glasses on my eyes. As long as a person is wearing the correct lenses, then their eyes should not be messed up if they are at the computer for a long period of time.

Not too sure whether I agree with the opinion about eyes getting weaker with increased usage, but yes I do wear glasses whenever I'm using my computer.

Hi icesmile If you are using the traditional monitor a.k.a CRT (cathode ray tube) for your daily habit in surfing/browsing or what so ever purposes then it is advisable to wear eyeglass for eye protection to avoid eyestrain. Monitor that is CRT is producing x-rays that can harmed our eyes but less when compares to other x-ray machine. But, if you are using LCD monitor it is fine without using eyeglasses to protect your eyes.

you would have been right if you would have told this years ago when microtek monitors were used which had high radiation properties. but now a days high end monitors have in built anti glare screen inbuilt which doesnt put strain in ones eyes. however, bad color levels can put pressure in ones eyes. so its best to calibrate the color scheme of your monitor with a suitable tool before using it.

Yes, you are right. Especially people who are on the computer many hours a day, every day, can have their eyes effected. I spend many hours too at my office and also at home. So, I have a glare protector on my monitor screen. That certainly is very good, easing reflection on the eyes. How about you ? Do you wear glasses or have a protector like me ?

Yes, you're absolutely right. I sit in front of the computer for about 14 hours every day, and my sight is very poor. So I have to wear my glasses every minute except sleeping. That's suffering but I have no any other choices.

I do wear glasses while I am on the computer. I have noticed that if I am on the computer for many hours it does make my eyes and sometimes my head hurt so I retreat to something not so straining to my vision.

With regard to your question, if I am wearing my eyeglass - yes, I do use an eyeglass very often. I started using this since college. And since, I am quite old, I need to use an eyeglass everytime I use computer. Its not because I cannot read or see it but, it is more clear and I can work faster if I wearing my eyeglasses.

I never wear glasses when using computer, although I often use computer for many hours. .Until now,my eyesight is still good and I do not need glasses.Maybe my monitor has a screen-shed that can reduce the light rays that entering my eyes. One thing that I cannot understand is why some people refuse to wear glasses when they are browsing and like to stick their head near the screen to get a better view.Doesn't wearing glasses is more easier than sticking their head on the screen?

when i first started using the pc , that is 4 years back i was not using spectacles but very soon and after a few months the glare from the screen started affecting my eyes and i had to screw them up to see what was on the screen. So i got my eyes examined and got a pair of anti-glare numbered glasses which i use everyday and still using now.lol.

i'm not using glasses when working in front of my computer, the best thing i do for my eyes is adjust the light in my room, usually i adjust the light until i'm feeling comfort to watch the monitor. so far this method work for me, at least until today i don't have a problem with my eyes although i'm working in front of monitor more than 8 hours/day
