Innovation in PTC sites: Not Worth Investing

I would like to know some ideas as to why get paid to click site are not worth investing your money. I know there are successful people out there but I guest tons of unsuccessful clickers lost their money and failed to get back their investments. Are our money invested in these sites are protected? If so, how?
