Tata Nano is the most economical car today but it is not suitable for Indian roads what with congestion on the roads, bad drivers, and bad roads too. But they will do very well abroad where this car will love the roads, love the drivers and driving rules too. Your opinion please!

I actually considered buying a Tata Nano in 2009 when I was buying my car (I bought Maruti WagonR). My husband hated it and the way he talked about it discouraged me. But the final decision not to buy was made based on me actually going to the Tata showroom and looking at the car itself. It does not look safe at all. And with two children, I have to look for the safety features. It looked very flimsy and full of plastic.

Two years on and this topic is alive and kicking - thanks to you zralteEven I would not give this car a second look but was wondering if it would do well abroad. Just a thought.

Yeah...I wonder if anyone who owns it would be sharing their experience with it....It might do well in Europe.

I'm sorry but it is a hiddious piece of s**t! 52-62mpg? thats no way the most economical car ever! A new Honda Accord I-CDTI can avarge 70 mpg and thats a 2.2 turbo diesel and it looks kinda nice. The reason its only £2000 is because nobody would pay anymore for it. And who's Tata? 'oh yeah, that indian company that are going to destroy Land Rover. I'd rather walk, sorry...

You have the right to your opinion but there is talk of it being a winner abroad.

Fair enough, as long as it stays abroad. There is already enough rubbish on the roads ova here (Toyota Prius,Gee-wiz, Smart car abd stupid little Kia and Dewoo things.)

Neat little car, but where I live, 0-37 mph in 8 seconds would be pretty impracticle. this tells me it doesn't have a lot of power and I live in a pretty mountainous area, the small hills here alone would make this thing choke. I supose it's great as a city car, getting to and from work, running erands. Nothing I'd want to take on a long trip though. Can't beat the price either, a little over two thousand bucks. It doesn't look like it would hold up in a collision with a moose though....

I asked one of my friend to let me drive his Tata Nano. After driving Hyundai Accent all this while I felt I am driving an auto rick. It had no pickup and no speed. I did not enjoy the drive at all. If a car catches fire soon after it is out of the show room then I wouldn't bet my life on it.
