The best over all dog?

I've had many dogs so far. But my all time favorite dog has to be the Australian Shepherd. I have a beautiful one year old who, is well trained, and I didn't even have to take her to lessons. Unlike my other dogs she knows when to be hyper or calm and she never tears into the trash or my clothes. She knows when to bark and when to be silent. She's amazing with other dogs and people and is absolutely gorgeous. So, what's your favorite all-time dog and why?

I think Golden retrievers are the best dogs. They are the perfect size, but more importantly, they are super well behaved and so cute and loving. My dog (golden retriever, is mellow but still fun, and is the most loving creature on earth. She is the best dog that I could possibly imagine. Cheers!

Golden retrievers would definitely be in my top five. They are close to the perfect companion for kids or adults. They also don't have too many health problems that could be fatal.

I don't have a definite favorite.my favorites are big dogs.I love the working breed.I love Doberman,German Shepherd,Rottweiler,Akita,Old English Sheepdog,St. Bernard,Great Dane,and Newfoundland.I love big dogs because they're huggable.I feel safe and protected around them.

My favorite dogs were mutts.
A Malamute/Lab mix and a Collie/Shepherd mix. They were fantastic, smart dogs
that i think were absolutely perfect. They were well trained. I barely had to do any work with them, they were just naturally attentive and intuitive.
I walked them without leashes for years. the only time they required training was when we moved to a new location then they were retrained for a few weeks as to where I expected them to stop (at busy driveways and curbs).
But it was my Collie mixes gentle nature that made me get a full Collie and then another.. and now I am hooked. I think a COLLIE or Collie mix is a great dog.!
