FRIENDS MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING.. Horror gripped the heart of an officer, as he saw another officer- his friend- fall in the gunfight with the insurgents in J&K. The officer asked his CO if he could go out to bring his fallen comrade back. "You can go," said the CO, "but don't think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you probably might throw your life away." The CO's words didn't matter, and the officer went anyway. Miraculously, he managed to reach his friend, and then hoisted him onto his shoulder and brought him back to their company's trench. The CO checked the wounded officer, then looked kindly and said "I told you it wouldn't be worth it. Your friend is dead and now you are mortally wounded." "It was worth it, Sir," said the officer. "What do you mean by `worth it'?" responded the CO," Your friend is dead." "Yes Sir," the officer answered, "but it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say....... " Dude...I knew you would come ! " FRIENDS MAKE YOUR LIFE WORTH LIVING..

Yes ms, when life deals blows, they are very hard to bear alone. It is at such times that true friends come to be with you and give you all the love and patience. I am truely glad you are blessed with a husband who is not only your husband but also a friend. Such men are rare in this world and I sincerely wish you both the best in life. Yes, God has His own ways and though at times we do not understand why this or that is happening, He knows best. He brought you both together and may His belssings be with you always. Amen.

That is called real friendship.A selfless relationship we can earn in our life is friendship and it is the one relationship we create by ourselves. One can expect a friend ready to share the joy or sorrow without any reservations.I can understand how that man would have felt to hear his friend's last words.

Hi sr, friends like these are rare to find, and once found, they should be treated like gems and cared for. They are more precious than all the gems in the world, for they are there for you when you need them most. Both these officers must have felt that no matter what, the other would always be there for him, so in this case I can truely say, this friendship was one in a million and it must have broken his heart to see his friend die, yet feel proud to know he did his duty towards his friend. Thanks.

I'm glad you went.I don't think any amount of monetary satisfaction can replace what you've done. Those last words are worth more than all the precious commodities life can offer.I back you when you say friends make life worth living.

picjim, I did not go, it was the officer who was fighting terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir who went to rescue his friend. I totally agree with you, the last words made his day and gave his dying friend the much needed comfort only a true friend can give. Yes, there are friends who are worth dying for and make life a much more pleasant place to live in. Thanks.
