You monitor is ok. But your tower or desktop are damaged. I think its vga card. Better to repair it before late -_-

not sure if you have tried restarting the system after you have plugged in the monitor which looks like being in stand by mode. Here are few things you can try - if you have another monitor plug it in the system where the current monitor is not working. If it responds the same way then try hard boot on the system. You need to press the power button and hold it for 10-15 seconds till the time all the lights on the tower and monitor turn off. Boot the system again and see if you are all set. If so you may try putting back your original monitor and check.

computer could be on it's way to dying. How old is the computer also how much memory does it have? I have a lap top and sometimes I want to throw it out the window I want a new one it's 3 years old got up grated to 2 g ,but I want a 4 gig. I's all of matter of is the processor good does it run fast or is the computer crashing. Crashing isn't good sign. I want a new computer because my mouse is going on it and the speakers are going plus it's acting slow. Computers are stupid sometimes when they act up they can be. Good luck with your computer maybe it has a virus do a scan sometimes it can be that. I'm a computer geek it's my dad's fault and the boyfriend knows about computers me too though. If you do a scan for virus's and see how that does. But if it's not that sometimes you might have to restall programs like windows and the other programs which is time consuming ,but if you don't know much about computers then bring it to someone hows a computer nerd to do it for u. I just do it myself sometime or my dad does he doesn't know I know how to do that stuff myself. He can take computers apart I wouldn't dare I'm not an engerineer he is. Bring it to someone that knows computers that could be your best bet if you don't know much about computers as I said.

Sounds like an issue with the video card. Try another monitor with the PC that doesn't work with that monitor and see if it works.

Remove your video card and connect it the other computer. Much of the problem is due to the video card. Sometimes most problem about monitor is due to faulty video cards. If it is still working then the problem was with you motherboard.
