do you consider computer as a third party in a relationship?

now a days a lot of boys are into computer games and it is getting worse. i have a friend she is always complaining about her boyfriend who doesn't have time with her but has time when he wants to play computer, sometimes she will just go with him in the internet cafe after school or anywhere where her boyfriend wants to play in order to be with him. I guess that's not normal already. i just told her to let him choose if he loves you he would spend quality time with you but if he can't minimize his addiction dump him. so what do you think is it a reasonable to consider it as third party?
