It lasted only 15 minutes as all the winners had been announced 3 months earlier. What really made the winners to be announced before the day of Ceremony?

Hi, voaktube745. I have never known this. This is some great news! And it was a very short ceremony too. Nowadays, an Oscar Award Ceremony will last for a couple of hours or so. For the people that are impatient, this will make them happy. All the dressing up and planning was not necessary..

There were also a lot less awards and it was not televised though it was on the radio. The fact that it is televised made it less of a awards ceremony and more of a show. The only other awards ceremony that gets similar coverage even though far less is the Golden Globes which has awards for cinema and television. Imagine how long the ceremony would be if they did not limit the speeches or other little things they have removed and shortened (they limit the length of the songs) to save time.
