My Christmas traditions are basically the same each year. We put up the tree early, just in case something happens. We decorate around the house, mainly lights and garland on the banister. Then on black Friday I begin our Christmas shopping. I try to get it all done, so I don't have to deal with it anymore. Christmas is a fun holiday, so why waste it on decorating and buying gifts. I love when I give out gifts, the look on their faces is priceless. My husband normally hangs lights outside, but he decided not to do this year. Mainly because he missed the chance when the weather was better. There's always next year.

No consistent traditions here. We make our plans around whatever family can be together and whenever they can be together. I have kept things pretty minimal this year. My daughter is here, and is on her way to Oklahoma. I will go down with her and the family. Husband works tomorrow evening and then will follow us to Oklahoma.

Things have changed so much in my family over the years, that it looks like Walker and I are going to end up starting our own traditions. This year we're doing something totally new, and going to a hotel in Toronto for a little mini vacation just to get away from everyone, and everything. The place has a pool, a hot tub, a spa, a restaurant, and all that is left for us to do is PACK! :)

For Hanukkah I light the candles .I eat things made with oil. For Christmas my family puts up a tree and we eat and exchange presents. I love it when Christmas is a day of Hanukkah. That way my menorah and the Christmas tree are both lit at the same time.
