How to enable the list of recently opened programs in vista?

Hi guys, Previously, in my comp, the list of recently opened programs were enabled by default. Yesterday I disabled it for some time and enabled it again by right clicking on the start menu button, selecting properties and then checking the check box under Privacy, but the list of recently opened programs are not showing in the start menu. How could I enable it. Please help me.
