Today, when i opened my email, I received a message from paypal telling me that They've decided to be on my favor for the case i filed against the hacker who made a transaction to Upbux. For those who didn't know what happened, Last December 16, 2009 at around 11:15 pm, my paypal account got hacked. So I filed a dispute against the hacker. Here's the message i got from paypal. I cannot really understand though. I hope someone could explain it to me in a much clearer and less technical manner. We placed the disputed funds in your PayPal account while we investigate this claim. When we’re done, any part of the payment that was funded by your credit or debit card will be transferred automatically from your PayPal account to that card. Please note that it might take up to 30 days for the refund to be credited to your card. During our investigation, you’ll have access to the disputed funds in your PayPal account. Keep in mind, if you spend or withdraw the full amount, we will not credit your card when your claim is resolved. If you spend or withdraw a part of the disputed funds, the remaining amount will be credited to your card. Thanks, PayPal I have checked my account and they have returned the $50 amount. I am getting confused since my account is not yet verified and i haven't linked any cards though. Hope someone could explain this to me. Thank you all!

Congratulations friend. I'm happy for you that you got back your money. Well done. Hope you're careful next time since the internet are full of hackers. I think the responders above have already explained the meaning of the paypal message. According to paypal, you'll really need to verify your account to increase the security of their payment network and gives paypal additional evidence of member's identity. Me, I got verified instantly when Unionbank gave me the 4-digit security code and used it on my account. I'm using Eon card. Call your bank and ask about it.

That was fast! Thanks, to Paypal! I think it's best to respond to them that you have not link any cards yet and explain to them that there must be some confusion with the cards. They have refunded you the money in your account, but when they mentioned that they will credit your card once the claim is resolved, most probably it means that the hacker was trying to transfer the money to his/her card, but you have stopped the process. That's what I think... but like I said, respond to Paypal immediately about this matter.

You're most welcome. At first I thought so, too, that it was a generated message and as long as you have already received the money, that shouldn't be worrying. It's just that if you have new funds in your account in future, I hope there won't be any problem. Take good care!

Hello corry, Yeah it was. I thought I am about to receive the refund after a week but they processed it right away.Oh so that's how you comprehend the letter? Thanks corry. Maybe it is just a spam message and not very personalized.

Hi, koalaspenguin. That is great news to hear about! I am sorry about your account being hacked into! I wished that these hackers would stop being so dirty! It looks like Paypal has funded your account so that it can be credited towards your card. You have full access to the funds but if you spend it before your claim is resolved, they will not credit your card. If you spend a certain amount of your funds then the remaining amount will be credited to your card. If you are still confused call Paypal and have them to explain this to you. I am just hearing about your story about your account being hacked into. I hope that this never happens again to you.

Hello cream. Yes it really is a great news. I guess hackers will remain the same as they think "outsmarting" us makes them smart. I have posted the very first day i knew about this and got a few responses from mylotters. I really hope it won't happen to me and to others also. As we all know we've been working hard for our earnings. Thanks for the response though, and Happy Holidays!

I have just read your discussion. I have a feeling that the email that paypal sent to you was a standard email to all who claim. I have heard of that email before with some one else.

It is a standard email because if you look at it, do paypal state how much would be returned to you paypal. From what I see, they only state, "disputed funds" If paypal individually types every email, it would take them for ever. But as the signs suggest that it is a standard email, all they would have to do is enter email addresses. So much quicker.

Congrats! at last you get your $50 in your account. Don't confuse about cards, if you didn't use any card for funding your account than obviously there will be no question at all. Have a great day.

That is good that you got your money back. I heard paypal horror stories where the victim's paypal account was locked and lost access to their funds. I wonder how the hacker got access to your paypal account in the first place? Well, regardless be careful.

Hi koalapenguin, I think the hacker who hacked your paypal account wouldhave linked some card with your paypal account for the purpose of transferring your balance to his card, why don't you check it out in your paypal account for cards which has been linked?

Congratz that you get your money back! Wonder how did the hacker take you paypal account? I though it was more difficult because Paypal is a secured site. Although, Paypal give the money, this is the most important thing in your story. Wish you good luck that it will never happen another time against you.

Hello and welcome staphanek. Thank you for the response. I was careless of my password and email maybe that's the reason why the hacker easily hacked my account. We all wish that this thing won't happen ever again though.
