it has been a traditi0n to use firecrackers, different kinds during New Year's Eve. me, i would prefer a n0isy gadget like a toy armallite or a trumpet. Safe and harmless. Every year theres always an accident waiting to happen to those who uses firecrackes. Is it really important? Do you use it?

Yes, we celebrate New year with firecrakers. Aside the fact it is a tradition. It has a symbolic meaning that they give new light and hopes for the coming year. The more extravagant they can be seen in the sky, the more luck awaits. The noise represents to take away bad spirits had from the previous year. Commonly now, they use firecrakers not only in that event but in some celebrations too.
