The best pet you had as a child.

When I was young I lived on a farm with my grandparents, and ended up becoming friends with a cow named Sparky. A few months after meeting Sparky and running around with him and my dogs my grandpa told me it was time to send him to the slaughter house. So being the young girl I was I MADE it so that would never been an option for Sparky. Sparky was definitely my favorite pet for the longest of times. What was your favorite pet as a kid?

My favorite pet as a child was a hamster named Butch. He would eat breakfast with me when I was getting ready to go to school. We'd have tea, toast, eggs, bacon, and he loved all that stuff. He would drink his tea out of a ketchup cap, that was his cup, lol! I taught him tricks, and would stick him in my pocket when I had to go to the store for my Mom. Butch would scare the living daylights out of the older ladies and I just thought that was so funny back then. He lived for 4 years which is pretty good for a hamster and it broke my heart.

That is too adorable. I have a sugar glider who I take to the store with me in my pocket and she always scares little kids when she comes out and jumps on my shoulder. I can't explain how cute it would be to see a hamster drinking tea out of a ketchup cap.

so you made your grandparents promise never to kill sparky?
i'm sure they agreed because grandparents can't say no to their grandchildren. :)
my favourite pet as a kid, my only pet i would say, was my guinea pigs. they were given to me by my school teacher whose guinea pigs had bred extra.

The best pet I had as a child was actually owned by my neighbors. They had a border collie that I loved and who loved me. I was not her favorite, but I was in second place. If she wasn't with her owners, she was with me. She always wanted to be running or working some way and was the smartest dog I've ever known.

I had four pets when I was a child: A golden retriever, a boxer, a guineapig and a budgie. I loved all of them, but the guineapig was my favourite pet. She lived in my room, and she was very tame. I loved playing with her and taking care of her, and I spent a lot of time with her. I received her as a present from my parents when I was about 11. That day I was very unhappy, and my parents wanted to do something to cheer me up, so they told me that we could buy a guineapig for me. I had been talking about that for a long, long time, so I was more than happy when my parents bought her for me.
