Question for American mylotters..

I've always wondered, whats the difference between Christmas and thanks giving?

Thanksgiving is sort of a harvest festival. It was initiated as a day of thanks for bounty and indeed, just gratitude that one survived another year in a new and wild land. It wasn't celebrated nationaly here untill after the civil was when the national holliday was declared. Before that, each state set it for their own.

thanksgiving is when the pilgrims were helped out by the indians. christmas is jesus's birthday =] or around the time that he was thought to be born
