You are the Judge-what verdict/punishment you will give?

There is ongoing trial in the case of Maguindanao massacre (Philippines), also known as Ampatuan massacre. The killings is a result of Political war between Esmael Magundadatu, vice mayor of Buluan town and mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. The massacre happened on November 23, 2009 when the victims were about to file the candidacy of Esmael Magundadatu for governor as a part of National elections in 2010. The victims were the family of the vice mayor including his wife, journalists, lawyers, aides and motorist who witnessed the killings. The official total of deaths as of now is 57. The alleged and accused mastermind is no other than mayor Ampatuan Jr. himself and conspired by the other members of his family and other government officials. The accused is presently in the hands of NBI for further investigation and ongoing trial. If you are given the right to give verdict/punishment what would you give? Life imprisonment is the highest sentence for serious crime such as murder. If you are to judge, is life imprisonment enough? Does it justify for all the lives destroyed? Not only 57 lives were taken but also the lives of their families. Let's stop political war and fight for justice to be served.
